Each one of us realizes the tremendous destruction and the massive and long recovery road ahead. Most of us have strong connections to the people of the Caribbean and feel a duty to act and contribute.
The formation of the SuperYacht Aid Coalition made up of the industry association leaders underscores the urgent need for us ALL to get involved, in a unified way and to make sure the collective industry response makes a statement. A statement that we can do great things together, that we deeply care and are grateful to the people of the affected Caribbean Islands. And the industries collective financial contribution makes a statement that reflects the value and appreciation we have for our Caribbean Island hosts.
YachtAid Global has been tapped to facilitate the yachting industries recovery efforts. It is clear that one group needs to advise all that want to get involved so we are not duplicating efforts and we maximize everyones contribution. We spend several hours a day talking to people giving real time situation reports from the islands and in all of these cases we are asking “how can we compliment your program or advise on how best to get contribute”.
We should be working together to raise funds and to plan for a well executed relief flotilla coming from the Med and USA.
All boats heading south are encouraged to contact YachtAid Global to coordinate what aid to take and where to take it.
