Last week we attended METS, the Marine Equipment Trade Show, in Amsterdam. METS is the world’s largest show of its kind, boasting 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, showcasing the latest technologies and innovations for the marine sector. From new diesel outboards and drone-defeat systems to cutting edge interiors and fittings, there was plenty to see for captains, engineers and boat-building clients large or small.
Our visit was a first for Estela Shipping, keeping an open mind as to what, or who, we would find there. A pleasant surprise was the large number of clients we encountered on our travels, including several captains checking up on the latest products and services.
We distributed over 100 copies of ‘The Y’ Yachting Handbook to exhibitors and met with a number of potential partners for next year’s edition. The show also featured a number of new exhibitors that were looking for representation in our region, which may become fruitful relationships in the future.
