ESTELA’s END OF SEASON PARTY!
Mark your diary now, the date is *Friday 4th October*, the place is *DiQue, Port Adriano*
And the fancy dress theme is…
Poseidon’s Underwater Kingdom
In keeping with the Greek theme of this year’s edition of ‘The Y Yachting Itineraries’, we are celebrating the god of the sea, Poseidon, aka Neptune.
Many of you will long have ‘crossed the line’ and been initiated into the court of King Neptune, but this night we shall all enter as Pollywogs and emerge as Shellbacks!
Raid your ‘Davy Jones’ locker and rustle up any old subaquatic costume. Come as the mythical kraken, a mermaid, Aquaman, Jaws (yes, we know the shark’s name was actually ‘Bruce’), SpongeBob, or any person, object, or creature from the deep.
Let your imagination swim wild, and there will, of course, be PRIZES for the best costumes on the night!
> Friday 4th October, 18:30h – late
> Venue: DiQue (formerly Blue Nest), Port Adriano
> Book your place on the coach from STP – Port Adriano – STP
Live Music
Kindalé
Regular guests at ESTELA’s events will be familiar with the Spanish guitar duo, Alberto and Queqo, mixing ‘Gypsy Kings’ classics with a range of popular songs adapted in Rumba style.
Dany Noel Quartet
This all-star band plays an exciting mix of Cuban and Latin music, fusing jazz, flamenco and more.
Dany Noel is a Grammy-nominated bass player who graduated in classical guitar from the “Ignacio Cervantes” Conservatory in Havana. His recording career stretches back 20 years, including collaborations with some of the biggest names on the Cuban and Latin jazz scene.
He released his first solo album in 2006 and is featured on numerous critically acclaimed recordings and movie soundtracks. His eponymous Signature bass guitar is a model created and named for him by specialist bass maker, Laurus.
Enrique Vargas was born in Moscow to Andalusian refugees, studying classical and flamenco guitar at Moscow State Conservatory. Performing and teaching in New York, he has collaborated with jazz giants including Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius and Chick Corea. Following a number of hand surgeries, Enrique recently returned to performing, including at ESTELA’s Captains’ Dinner in Palma earlier this year.
Joining Dany and Enrique, Alejandro Chávez is a classically trained percussionist and graduate of “Amadeo Roldan” Conservatory in Havana. Completing the quartet, Adrián Estévez is an award-winning pianist and composer who graduated from the University of the Arts, Havana. Both have recorded and performed with a variety of top artists on the jazz and Latin music scene, playing festivals in North America, Spain and beyond.
Old Noise
Closing out the live music for the night is our resident rock cover band. As ever, they’ll be bringing the party, with their energetic frontman, Néstor, belting out everything from AC/DC to Stevie Wonder. (They post some pretty funny rock memes too! www.facebook.com/OldNoiseRockBand)
